MC33771CTA1AE Overview
The MC33771C is a Li-Ion battery cell controller IC designed for automotive and industrial applications such as HEV, EV, ESS, UPS systems. Featuring:ADC conversions on the differential cell voltages with averaging up to 256 samples and currents as well as coulomb counting and temperature measurements.Embedded balancing transistors and diagnostics to simplify applications.Support standard SPI and transformer isolated daisy chain communication (with MC33664) to an MCU for processing and control up to 63 nodes in one daisy chain.Loopback support for one daisy chainFeatures

- 0.8 mV maximum total voltage measurement error
- 7 ADC/GPIO/Temperature Sensor Inputs
- Synchronized Advanced Current Measurement
- Integrated Current sensor with PGA
- Integrated Coulomb Counter
- Onboard Passive Balancing
- Onboard 300mA Low Rdson passive cell balancing MOSFETs with diagnostics
- Balancing in Sleep mode
- Programmable balancing timer for each MOSFET
- Isolated Daisy Chain or SPI Communication
- 2.0 Mbps, 2 wire twisted pair differential, isolated
- Inductive and capacitive coupling support –(only transformer coupling for MC33771B)
- Up to 63 nodes in one daisy chain – (15 nodes for MC33771B)
- Loopback support for 1 daisy chain – (no loopback capability for MC33771B)
- Addressable on initialization
- 4 Mbps SPI
- Diagnostics, Functional Safety and Robustness
- OV/UV, OT/UT, OC fault verification
- Sleep mode OV/UV, OT/UT monitoring
- Support ISO 26262, up to ASIL D safety capability
